retain the title of senior VP, corporate communications.

Jim McGrath was named senior vice president,
media engineering at Discovery Communications.
He comes from Ascent Media,
where he was chief technology officer.

DISNEY/ESPN

Disney & ESPN Media Networks has named
Chris Brush as senior vice president, affiliate
sales and marketing. He comes from the
network’s consumer-marketing side, where
he served as VP, marketing.

Also, Christen Harris was upped to vice
president, digital video and distribution
within the Disney & ESPN Media Networks
affiliate-sales team. She had been senior
director in the digital video distribution group.

ENCOMPASS

Los Angeles-based Encompass Digital Media
has named Bart Spriester as its chief
technology officer. A 19-year veteran of
Cisco Systems and Scientific-Atlanta, he
was VP and GM for Digital Media Networks
at Cisco.

NICKELODEON

Jenna Boyd was promoted to senior vice
president, animation development at Nickelodeon
Group, based in Los Angeles. She
had been VP, live action development.

Also, Brian Wright advanced to senior
vice president, live action development at
Nick. He was VP, live action development.

SPORTSMAN CHANNEL

Graig Hale advanced to vice president,
business development at New Berlin, Wisc.-
based Sportsman Channel. He had been
director, business development.

VIAMEDIA

Cable rep firm Viamedia has named Scott
Cote as Detroit-based regional sales manager,
Midwest. He was sales manager at
WADL-TV in Detroit.

Also, Lisa Gordon was named regional
sales manager for Viamedia’s Chicago-based
Central Division. She was sales manager for
Pandora Media.

Lauren Gellert was named senior vice
president, original production and development
at WE tv. She comes from Ion Television,
where she was VP, production and development.
