ADB’s U.S. Cable Chief Departs
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — As part of an overhaul
of its U.S. operations, set-top maker Advanced
Digital Broadcast said Tim Schermerhorn, senior
vice president and general manager for
its Americas cable business unit, has left the
company.
Schermerhorn, who joined ADB in May 2008,
previously worked for Motorola, General Instrument
and Cable & Wireless.
Meanwhile, ADB also shut down the Broomfield, Colo.-based office of Vidiom Systems, its
interactive-TV software development unit, “after
shifting most of the resources to other business
units during the course of previous year,” ADB
spokeswoman Tina Nyfors said. ADB bought
Vidiom in 2005; in 2008, Vidiom’s two founders
formed EnableTV after purchasing key assets
from Vidiom and ADB.
