AT&T Questions Connecticut Agency On U-verse Ruling

AT&T filed a motion with Connecticut’s Department of Public Utility Control seeking “clarification” on certain details of the agency’s ruling that the telco must obtain consent retroactively from property owners living next to U-verse equipment installed on rights-of-way.

• Russia's VimpelCom-Communications plans to use Microsoft's Mediaroom IPTV software platform for the Corbina TV service, expected to launch in mid-2008 with more than 100 linear channels.

• Verizon received a video franchise from the town of Taunton, Mass., making it the 71st Massachusetts community where FiOS TV is or will soon be available.

• Duo County Telephone Cooperative, a Kentucky-based service provider, has deployed Integra5's Converged Services Platform across its market footprint to roll out caller ID on the TV.

• Denmark's A+ Group is preparing to launch cable IPTV service this month using GoBackTV’s GigaQAM IP with CMTS bypass technology.

• Israel's HOT Telecommunications Systems has implemented a full suite of Harmonic’s IP-based digital video solutions to further consolidate operations and expand cable video service to include high-definition television.
