Jake Tapper has joined CNN as chief Washington, D.C., correspondent and anchor of a new weekday program. He had been ABC News senior White House correspondent.
COMEDY CENTRAL
Barry Julien was elevated to co-executive producer of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. He had been supervising producer and head writer of the program.
Also, Opus Moreschi advanced to head writer of The Colbert Report. He was a writer for the series.
DISH NETWORK
Martin Lenoir was named vice president of direct marketing at Englewood, Colo.-based satellite-TV provider Dish Network. He comes from the New York Life Insurance Co., where led direct-to-consumer marketing for the AARP Life Insurance Program.
ECHOSTAR
Mahmood S. Mirza has joined EchoStar as senior vice president of business systems, information technology and operations.
Also, Derek de Bastos has joined subsidiary Echo- Star Satellite Services LLC as chief technology officer. He was VP, engineering at Sirius XM Radio.

Atish Banerjea was named executive vice president and chief information officer at NBCUniversal. He comes from Dex One Corp., where he was chief technology officer.

Jason Hoff man has joined Optimedia as senior vice president, digital, overseeing the agency’s New York digital operations across display, search, mobile, video and analytics. He comes from OMD, where he was head of U.S. digital media and strategy.

Prime Media, a Smithfield, Va.-based firm specializing in cable-network advertising on small to medium systems, has named Sharon Frazier as senior vice president. She comes from Cox Media, where she was VP, sales in the corporate division.
SHOWTIME
Tom Christie was upped to president, distribution, business development and network operations at Showtime Networks, a new post. The 25-year veteran had been executive VP, affiliate sales since 2006.
SPROUT
Preschool network Sprout advanced Mark Sacher to senior vice president of research. He had been senior director.
TIVO
Digital video recorder maker TiVo upped a trio of executives: Naveen Chopra to chief financial officer from senior VP, corporate development and strategy; Dan (Charles) Phillips to chief operating officer from senior VP, engineering and operations; and Jeff Klugman to executive vice president, products and revenue from senior VP, revenue and product.
