`Real Husbands,' 'Real Housewives' Real Popular With Black Viewers
African-American viewers got real with their primetime viewing in January, with episodes from Bravo’s reality series Real Housewives Of Atlanta and BET’s scripted show Real Husbands Of Hollywood representing six of the top 10 most watched shows during the month.
The Jan. 15 debut of Real Husbands of Hollywood, a comedy takeoff of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, was the most watched show among African-Americans during the period of Dec. 31 to Jan. 27, drawing 3.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen. The series’ Jan. 22 episode finished eighth for the month, drawing 2 million viewers.
Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta placed four episodes among the top 10, with a Jan. 27 episode of the reality series topping the list with 2.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen.
CNN’s Jan. 21 coverage of the Presidential Inauguration placed ninth for the month, drawing 2 million African-American viewers.
