Roth Becomes President, Chief Content Officer of WBTV Group, While Retaining TV Studio President Title
Warner Bros. has announced significant changes to the top management of its TV and home entertainment units, with worldwide television operations for production and distribution being overseen by Peter Roth, Craig Hunegs and Jeffrey Schlesinger.
The changes are effective immediately and come as the longtime head of Warner Bros. Television Group Bruce Rosenblum prepares to leave the company. They are the first executive changes announced by Kevin Tsujihara, CEO, Warner Bros. since he assumed his position.

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, said Wednesday he plans to reintroduce the Free Flow of Information Act, the federal shield law bill that twice passed the Congress over the past few years before being stalled in the Senate.

Lifetime Networks has selected Eli Lehrer as senior vice president and head of non-fiction development, the network announced Wednesday.
 
Beginning July 8, he will oversee development of Lifetime's unscripted series, reporting to Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of programming.

Consumer reaction could be the biggest catalyst for programming cost reform, Cablevision Systems vice chairman and chief financial officer Gregg Seibert told an investment conference audience Wednesday.

Seibert, speaking at the JP Morgan Technology, Media and Telecom conference in Boston, said recent initiatives by Sen. John McCain to force a la carte options also could help foster reform.

New York -- Turner Broadcasting, holding its upfront presentation here Wednesday, announced new series coming to its TNT and TBS entertainment networks.
 
Turner’s projects come from high-profile names, including Steven Spielberg, Steve Carell, Diablo Cody, Denis Leary, Sylvester Stallone, Dick Wolf, Nicholas Sparks, Marcia Clark, Dee Johnson, Walt Becker, Jamie Foxx and James Duff.

Turner Broadcasting said it soon will be live streaming TNT and TBS via new apps for tablets and smartphones.
 
As such,Turner said TBS and TNT will become the first national entertainment networks to stream on-air content live across multiple platforms 24/7, including through the networks' websites and a pair of newly created Watch TNT and Watch TBS apps. The announcement was made during TNT and TBS's annual upfront presentation today in New York.
