Ken Boenish, the longtime president of adult programmer New Frontier Media, was tapped in August to head up Vivid Entertainment’s pay TV unit, VividTV. He recently talked to Multichannel News programming editor R. Thomas Umstead about the sluggish state of the adult pay-per-view/video-on-demand business, and what content providers and distributors can do to boost revenue in the face of online competition. Values-based video-on-demand purveyor EnLive has struck a carriage deal with cable operator Armstrong.
Under the pact, financial terms of which were not disclosed, Armstrong will add EnLive to its on-demand platform on Oct. 1. The service, which offers an array of family-friendly fare across multiple genres, will be available to the MSO’s nearly 240,000 subscribers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia for $4.99 monthly. Customers will gain unlimited access to the content.

BeIN Sport has added a third affiliate teammate, reaching a deal that will put its English- and Spanish-language sports networks before Comcast Xfinity linear and 'TV Everywhere' subscribers.
As was reported by Multichannel News, Comcast joins DirecTV and Dish Network in carrying beIN Sport, which now has secured berths on the nation's three largest distributors just a week after its Aug. 15 launch.

On Demand Programs To Help High School Students Prepare For Test

In Demand will offer a series of video on demand programs targeted to millions of high school students preparing for the SATs.
The program, Mastering the SAT, features six half-hour shows (two math, two reading and two writing-based programs) hosted by respected and successful tutor Daniel Fischer, according to company officials.
The suggested retail price of each show is $9.95, and the shows can be viewed as many times over a 24-hour basis, allowing students to follow at their own pace.
