Netflix will launch the fourth season of cult comedy Arrested Development on Sunday, May 26.

The new season comprises 15 episodes, not 14 as previously announced. As with its premiere of House of Cards, all episodes of Arrested will be available to watch at once starting at 12:01 a.m. (PT).

Created by Mitch Hurwitz, Arrested previously aired on Fox from  2003-06. Each episode of the new season will focus on a different member of the Bluth family

Amazon Studios, the original movie and series production arm of Amazon.com, has added cult favorite Zombieland to the pilot roster for its Prime Instant Video service.

Zombieland is the seventh comedy on Amazon's pilot lineup, which along with six children's pilots can be viewed for free on Amazon Instant Video and LoveFiLM UK. Subscribers can view the pilots and review them on the site, with customer feedback a key determinant for Amazon Studios' calls about which to turn into full-season orders.

Andy Forssell will be stepping in to lead Hulu as its acting CEO when current CEO Jason Kilar departs the streaming service at the end of this quarter, the company announced Thursday.

Forssell has been senior vice president of content at Hulu since 2007 and spearheaded its move into original programming last year.

The Weather Channel is using Elemental Technologies’ video-encoding systems to deliver live programming over the Internet to millions of users through its mobile apps and Web properties, as well as YouTube.

The programmer has deployed the Elemental Live software, which runs on off-the-shelf graphics processing units (GPUs) instead of special-purpose chips, in its Atlanta operations center, according to the companies.

Brightcove, a provider of online video management services, said Wednesday it will discontinue its App Cloud platform designed to provide a “write once, deploy many” capability for video providers to publish apps across different device platforms.

Instead, the company said it will “accelerate investment” in its native player software development kits.
