USA Network has renewed Necessary Roughness for a third season of ten episodes to air this summer.
 
Necessary Roughness, paired with Royal Pains, averaged 5.3 million viewers on Wednesdays this past summer.  The show's season two premiere on June 6 drew 4.6 million total viewers.

HBO on Friday set its documentary slate for the first half of 2013, which will feature seven new films.

The first documentary scheduled to debut is Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God, which will premiere Feb. 4. Directed by Alex Gibney, Mea Maxima Culpa will tell the story of four deaf men who claim a Catholic priest sexually abused them, and the ensuing cover-up.

A&E will premiere its new Psycho prequel drama Bates Motel on Monday, March 18 at 10 p.m., the network announced Friday.

From executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights), Bates Motel stars Vera Farmiga and Freddy Highmore in a story of how Norman Bates' psyche unravels through his teenage years and his intricate relationship with his mother.

Show Will Follow 85-Year-Old's Marriage to 34-Year-Old Scott

A&E has greenlit a reality series following former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards and his marriage to Trina Grimes Scott, a woman more than 50 years his junior.

The network ordered 12 episodes of The Governor's Wife, which will premiere Feb. 27 at 10 p.m.

The 85-year-old Edwards served four terms as Louisiana's governor, but is most known for serving an 8.5-year prison sentence for bribery and extortion charges stemming from his tenure. He met the 34-year-old Scott as a pen pal during his time in prison.

The American Cable Association has lined up FCC commissioner Ajit Pai and House Energy and Commerce Committee member Rep. John Barrow (D-Ga.) for its 20th annual summit.
 
Pai will be interviewed by ACA president Matt Polka, while Barrow will speak in advance of ACA member's Hill visits to press the flesh and press their points about reforming retrans, nondiscriminatory access to content and generally protecting the interests of small and midsized cable operators.
