Emmys: 'Daily Show': Now A Decade as Outstanding Variety Show

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart took home its 10th consecutive statue for outstanding variety, music or comedy series. Stewart accepted the award and thanked fellow nominees The Colbert Report, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Real Time With Bill Maher, and Saturday Night Live.

 

Emmys: 'Homeland' Pilot Wins for Drama Writing

Showtime got on the scoreboard at the 64th Primetime Emmys, as the pilot for terrorist series Homeland won the statue for outstanding writing for a drama series.
Alex Gansa, Howard Gorson and Gideon Raff garnered laurels for the pilot of Homeland, which is hopeful of winning a number of other awards. This was their first nominations and the inaugural win for the premium network in the category.

Emmys: Louis Dreyfus Wins for Lead Comedy Actress for HBO's 'Veep'

Julia Louis Dreyfus won her third career Emmy for her portrayal of the second-ranked official in the United States.
Louis Dreyfus won the statue for lead actress in a comedy for her role as ficionaly Vice President Selina Meyer in HBO’s freshman series Veep.

Emmys: Louis C.K. Wins Cable's First Award for Comedy Writing

Cable copped its first Primetime Emmy as Louis C.K. took home the statue for outstanding writing for a comedy series.
The comic, who is nominated for a record seven awards this year, won his second career Emmy, this one for his writing on the Pregnant episode of FX’s series Louie.
