The FCC released its 205-page (including addenda) incentive auction framework proposal on Tuesday, and it is suggesting broadcasters may prefer a multiple-round, "dynamic" auction, rather than one with a single round of sealed bids, where the decision not to sell in that first round would be "irreversible."

Dish Pushes Rural Broadband With DishNET Bundles

Dish Network will begin marketing satellite broadband Internet service that promises “4G-level speeds” to millions of rural Americans nationwide under its new dishNET brand, and will offer price breaks if customers also order satellite TV.
The dishNET service, which the company says offers a maximum of either 5 or 10 Megabits per second depending on a customer’s location, is provided through deals with ViaSat and Hughes Network Systems.

Comcast Monday kicked off the second year of its Internet Essentials braodband adoption program at an event at Kramer Middle School in Washington.
That comes a year after the company launched the program in the city at an event at Ballout High School. Internet Essentials is Comcast's program to provide low-cost ($9.95 a month) broadband to homes with students eligible for free and low-cost school lunch programs for as long as the children are in the home, as well as training and access to reduced-price computers .
