Mystery Girls

ABC Family will look to generate some laughs with the debut of Mystery Girls.

The series stars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, former co-stars of the 1990s series Beverly Hills 90210, as the former co-stars of a 1990s TV series about a duo of sexy crime-solving women.

Holly Hamilton (Spelling) continues to look for fame years after the show was cancelled, while Charlie Contour (Garth) enjoys life as a suburban mom removed from the Hollywood scene. The two actresses though, are brought together when Mystery Girls fanatic Nick (Miguel Pinzon), a witness to a murder, refuses to speak to anyone except the two TV crime solvers.

90210 will fans undoubtedly tune in to see Spelling and Garth, who seem to have good on-screen chemistry. The series though, will have to do better than rely on old ’90s references for jokes and often silly dialogue between the two stars to keep viewers tuning in.
