Quincy Smith was named president of CBS Interactive. He comes from Allen & Co., where he was involved in transactions for Google and has worked with AOL, Yahoo and Viacom, among others.
CNN
Zain Verjee was named State Department correspondent, CNN. She has reported on international affairs for CNN/U.S., most recently as contributor to The Situation Room and co-anchor for Your World Today.
Also, New York-based correspondent Carol Costello will contribute to The Situation Room, providing updates from New York.
Comedy Central
Erik Flannigan was named senior vice president of digital media, Comedy Central and Spike TV. He comes from AOL in Los Angeles, where he was VP of programming.
Also, Peter Risafi was promoted to senior vice president, brand marketing, and executive creative director, Comedy Central. Since joining the network in 2000, he has spearheaded two network brand redesigns. Prior to that, he was executive producer and creative director for the launch of SoapNet for Disney/ABC Cable Networks.
Cox Media
Robin Harris was named promotions specialist, Cox Media Hampton Roads. She was promotions director at WTVZ-TV in Norfolk, Va.
Dave Networks
Douglas Fulton was named president of entertainment for Dave Networks. He was executive vice president of JumpTV in Europe and Canada, and had served as senior VP of SBS Broadcasting in Europe.
Espial
Brian Mahoney was named vice president of marketing for IPTV middleware and applications provider Espial. He comes from voice-over-Internet Protocol vendor Netcentrix.
Fox News
Seth Hittman was named national director of digital media sales, Fox News Channel. He comes from CBS Digital Media, where he was senior account executive, managing interactive advertising East Coast accounts, including Marriot, MBNA, Subway and Sony.
Also, Courtney Dubin was named marketing manager, digital media sales at Fox News. She was integrated sales manager, A&E Television Networks.
And Alexis Goldstein was named account executive, digital media sales. She had worked for NBC since 2001, most recently as account manager in the digital-media department.
Funimation
Debra Kennedy was promoted to senior vice president, Funimation Entertainment. She will continue to oversee all marketing and broadcast efforts of anime properties, including Dragon Ball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai 7, and Afro Samurai.
RCH Outsourcing
Don Daniels was named director, technical operations for the Mid-Atlantic region of RCH Outsourcing Services. He was vice president and general manager of Comcast, Toms River and Long Beach Island, N.J.
ReelzChannel
Wayne Aaronson was named vice president, advertising sales, West Coast. He was director of Western region media sales for TV Guide Television Group.
RGB Networks
Robert Weinbaum was named national sales director of the North American telco division. He was sales director at Amdocs.
Rutberg
Eric Risley was hired to head up investments at wireless and digital media investment firm Rutberg & Co. He ran the software corporate and investment banking group at Banc of America Securities.
Sony Pictures
Chris Van Amburg was promoted to executive director, new media marketing, Sony Pictures Television. He was director of DVD marketing and will continue to be the company's point person with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, managing the marketing of TV series moving into the DVD marketplace.
Tennis Channel
Eric Turpin was promoted to vice president of distribution, Eastern region at The Tennis Channel. He has assisted in distribution agreements with Time Warner Cable, Insight Communications, Mediacom Communications and Bresnan since joining the network as account director, Northeast region in 2003.
Also, Tennis promoted Laura Hockridge to executive producer, series and specials. She was senior producer and has supervised original series and internally produced specials.
Heath Woodlief was elevated to producer at Tennis and will co-produce network series Open Access. He was associate producer.
And Michelle Hanchaikul advanced to associate producer. She has been a production assistant since 2005 and has worked for KWID in Los Angeles.
Turner
Gary McCarthy was promoted to head of finance and accounting for Turner Broadcasting System's animation division. He was a vice president within Turner's strategic planning group.
Viacom
Carole Robinson was named executive vice president and chief of staff, MTV Networks. She was executive VP of corporate relations, Viacom.
Also, Carl Folta was named executive vice president, corporate communications, Viacom. He was executive VP, office of the chairman.
