Apple

Mark Papermaster has joined Apple as senior vice president of devices hardware engineering, leading the company’s iPod and iPhone teams. He comes from IBM, where he was a vice president.

Broadcom

Irvine, Calif.-based chipmaker Broadcom has tapped Arthur Chong as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. He was executive VP and chief legal officer at Seattle-based insurer Safeco.

Canoe

Cable interactive-advertising consortium Canoe Ventures has appointed Vicki Lins as chief marketing officer. She had been senior VP, marketing and communications at Comcast Spotlight.

Also, Canoe has added Michael Davis as general counsel. He comes from CableLabs, where he provided legal and development counsel on several business projects.

Clearfield

Minneapolis-based fiber solutions provider Clearfield has upped Johnny Hill to chief operating officer. He had been vice president, engineering and product management.

Comverse

Comverse has tapped Urban Gillstrom as group president, Comverse Global Sales. He comes from Ericsson, where he most recently served as a member of the multimedia business unit’s management team.

Bert Offers has joined Concurrent Computer as vice president, sales, Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa, on demand.

CSI Digital

Steve Luttrell has joined Portland, Ore.-based CSI Digital as hospitality sales manager. He had been regional sales manager at Hospitality Converged Entertainment.

Marc LeSage has joined Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in Bethesda, Md., as vice president of sales. He comes from IdeaCast Networks, where he was senior VP, advertising sales.

Discovery

Ian Parmiter was named senior vice president, integrated advertising sales marketing at Discovery Communications U.S. He comes from Dr Pepper/Seven-Up, where he was VP, brand management.

Discovery Channel

Ken Schwab has joined Discovery Channel as senior vice president, programming. He had been senior VP, programming at TBS and TNT.

Disney Media Networks

Peter Seymour was upped to executive vice president, strategy and research at Disney Media Networks. He had been senior VP, strategy.

FamilyNet

Atlanta-based FamilyNet has name Lisa Morgan director, marketing and communications. She comes from Black Family Channel, where she was VP, marketing, promotions and public relations.

Also, Dianne Davis advanced to FamilyNet’s affiliate marketing manager.

And Tom Calvin has joined FamilyNet as Dallas-based Southwest affiliate relations director. He had been manager, affiliate sales and advertising at Rainbow Media Networks in Dallas.

Global Net Access has named B.E. (Chip) Lawson III as director of operations, Global Net Access, LLC and Colo Facilities Atlanta, LLC. He comes from Emory University in Atlanta, where he was a systems analyst in the computer operations department.

Limelight

Internet content-delivery firm Limelight Networks has named Jeffrey T. Fisher to its board of directors. Fisher is the former chief financial officer at Charter Communications.

MONSOON

Digital video company Monsoon Multimedia has named William Loesch CEO. He comes from Pinnacle Systems, where he headed the consumer division.

MTV

Stephen K. Friedman was named general manager of MTV, responsible for day-to-day management of the network as well as MTV.com. MTV2, MTV Tr3s, MTV Hits and MTV Jams. Formerly GM of mtvU, he will also maintain oversight of that network.

Scripps

Brian Lawlor was named senior vice president of television at E.W. Scripps. He had been corporate vice president of sales.

Star

Hong Kong-based pay TV provider Star has named Ben Money vice president of international advertising sales research. He comes from Eurosport in London, where he was head of research responsible for the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and the United States.

Sundance

Mala Chapple has been named vice president, original programming and production at Sundance Channel. She had been a consultant to the network.

WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment has elevated Donna Goldsmith to chief operating officer of the Stamford, Conn.-based sports-entertainment company. She had been executive VP, consumer products.
