Carat

Carat Entertainment has elevated Pat Jones to vice president and director, account services, from director, development.

Also, Sara Chazen was hired as head of development at Carat strategic partner MY Entertainment. She was executive producer of E! Entertainment Television’s Hollywood Hold ’Em.

Comcast

Mike Cleland was named Comcast Corp.’s area vice president, Detroit West. He was director of operations at Comcast Spotlight.

Also, Doug Pauley was elevated to vice president of marketing, video products in the Midwest division. He was VP, marketing, Central region.

Finally, Comcast named Mark Allen area vice president for the city of Chicago. He was vice president, national customer-service development, based in the MSO’s Philadelphia headquarters.

Court TV

Court TV has elevated Wendy Whitman to vice president of live trials. Also, Shawn Giangeruso was promoted senior executive producer of Catherine Crier Live; Justin Freiman was promoted to senior executive producer, special projects; Carolyn Purcell was elevated to senior executive producer, daytime; and Bob Regan was elevated to senior executive producer, news breaks.

Cox Communications Inc. has expanded the role of Hampton Roads, Va., region vice president, general manager Franklin R. Bowers to include president, Cox Virginia Telecom.

Current

Current has hired Andrew Struse as senior vice president, on-air promotion. He comes from VH1, where he was VP, on-air creative.

Also, Patrick Newall was named director of production, Los Angeles. He had been an independent producer and writer.

Adam Yamaguchi was named a Current writer, producer and correspondent. He was a freelance TV reporter.

Joe Hanson was named writer, producer and correspondent at Current. He was a “viewer-created content” producer at the network.

Jeff Clark was tapped as creative-services producer. He was an independent music-video producer. And independent hip-hop artist Murs has joined the channel as host/producer.

FX

Stephanie Gibbons was elevated to executive vice president, marketing and promotions at FX.

MTV Networks

MTV Networks named John Cucci chief operating officer of the Comedy Central/Spike TV/TV Land entertainment group. He was chief financial officer.

And Colette Chestnut was named executive vice president, chief financial officer of MTV Networks. She comes from ad agency JWT, where she was North American CFO.

OpVista

Optical-networking vendor OpVista Inc. has named Stuart Santoro vice president, telco, utility and enterprise, North America. He most recently founded and sold Ubiquitair, a wireless Internet-service provider providing broadband services to rural portions of Maine.

Quandrangle

Quadrangle Group LLC has named Robert M. Donahue, founder of media and communications investment firm Harpoon Equity, as a managing principal, part of Harpoon’s integration into the company as Quadrangle Equity Investors.

Also, Harpoon executives Ryan Brown and John Hill will join Quadrangle as vice president.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has named Simon Swart executive vice president, general manager, North America. He was executive VP, national sales.

Univision

Lisa Nolan was named vice president, New York sales manager at Univision Communications Inc. She was Univision network senior account executive.

Verizon

Monica Azare was named senior vice president, state public policy and government affairs, New York and Connecticut, at Verizon Communications Inc. She was executive director and senior counsel, federal affairs at Verizon Wireless.
