EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service has added American Desi to its programming lineup, the network said Tuesday.
American Desi called itself “the first English-language TV network for South Asians living in America.”
The network’s senior management boasts extensive cable- and broadcast-television experience, including senior vice president of programming Rickie Gaffney (ABC, ESPN, FX), senior VP of sales Ken Gelb (Pax TV) and senior advisors Ray Heacox (KNBC, NBC TV stations sales and marketing) and Howard Homonoff (CNBC).
