Antietam Cable Names Lynch President, General Manager

Antietam Cable Television has named Comcast executive Brian Lynch as its president and general manager.
Lynch, who will be responsible for the management and strategic direction of all facets of the cable operator, serving Washington County, Md., succeeds V. Gene Hager, who retired from those positions.

Lynch, a cable industry veteran, who most recently  was vice president and general manager of Comcast of Greater Baltimore, is now charged with the business operations, customer service, marketing, new product and services launches, technical and engineering and government affairs for Antietam Cable. The operator recently introduced digital telephony and doubled the speed of its Internet service.

"Brian brings a wealth of experience in the cable industry and strong strategic vision to Antietam Cable Television," said Marci Burdick, senior vice president, electronic division of Schurz Communications, Inc., the parent of the cable operator, as well as Advanced Cable Communications. At Comcast of Greater Baltimore, Lynch was the senior operations official with responsibilities for all aspects of the system. He has also managed cable systems in Dover, De., Harford County and Ocean City, Md.

Based in Mishawaka, Ind., Schurz is a privately held communications company. In addition to Antietam and Advanced Cable, Schurz owns 10 TV stations, as well as 13 radio stations, while operating three others. It also publishes 11 daily and eight weekly newspapers with a combined circulation of some 225,000, shopping publications in California, and a phone directory.
