Armstrong Named Comcast SVP Investor Relations

Comcast said Monday that it has appointed former Goldman Sachs media analyst Jason Armstrong senior vice president of investor relations, replacing Marlene Dooner, who was  named executive vice president Hispanic Enterprises and Content for NBCUniversal earlier this year. Armstrong will assume his new duties in early January and will report to vice chairman and chief financial officer Michael Angelakis.

“Jason is a leading financial analyst and brings extensive knowledge of media, technology, cable and many other related industries to Comcast,” Angelakis said in a statement. “I’m delighted he will be joining us to lead a strong team that is responsible for communicating our strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives to our shareholders and the investor community.”

Armstrong spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs where he most recently served as managing director, deputy business unit leader of the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Research Group. He was also lead analyst for the North American Communications Services Equity Research Group with principal coverage of the cable, satellite, telecommunication services, wireless towers, and data centers industries. Armstrong received recognition from The Wall Street Journal, Institutional Investor Magazine and Business Insider as a top research analyst. In addition, he consistently ranked in the top three in StarMine for estimate accuracy and stock picking accuracy in the U.S. Wireline Telecom, U.S. Wireless Telecom, and U.S. Media sub-sectors. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Armstrong worked at Ernst & Young in Chicago in the Strategy and Corporate Finance Group. He earned a B.S. degree in Economics from Duke University.
