Bresnan Taps Cedar Point for VoIP

1/11/2005 2:44 AM Eastern

Bresnan Communications will use Cedar Point Communications’ “SAFARI C³ Media Switching System” to deliver voice-over-Internet-protocol service in its Grand Junction, Colo., system.

The MSO said it expects to launch the VoIP service, in conjunction with Net2Phone Inc.’s hosted telephony platform, during the first quarter.

“Our philosophy always has been to look beyond core residential video services to the totally integrated communications bundles that make cable a compelling value proposition,” Bresnan senior vice president of advanced services Leonard Higgins said in a prepared statement.

“The simplicity, cost-effectiveness and scalability of SAFARI C³ will enable us to deliver high-quality, highly reliable services that will help us to attract and retain customers,” he added.
