Buckeyes Win, But Some Subs Lose

12/30/2004 5:32 AM Eastern

Some Columbus, Ohio-area Time Warner Cable subscribers won’t be able to “remember the Alamo.”

The operator experienced scattered outages in the area Wednesday night, depriving several subscribers of viewing hometown Ohio State’s 33-7 Alamo Bowl victory over Oklahoma State, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Time Warner spokeswoman Mary Jo Green told the newspaper the problems stemmed from recent power outages because the system's feeder stations use electricity to send signals.

Green didn’t know how many subscribers were affected, but she told the Dispatch, “They're isolated outages. It's not thousands.”
