Charter Communications announced the appointment of Alexander Dudley, previously group vice president of public relations at Time Warner Cable, as senior vice president of communications.
In addition, the MSO announced the promotion of Richard Dykhouse to executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary from senior vice president.
Both Dykhouse and Dudley will be based out of Charter's corporate offices in Stamford, Conn.
Dudley, who will start at Charter on March 18, will oversee strategic communications and community relations, including maintaining relationships with national, local and trade media. Prior to joining TWC in 2007, he was a senior vice president at Dan Klores Communications in New York, working on various crisis and corporate accounts that included large media and telecommunications companies. Before that held a series of communications positions in New York Gov. George Pataki’s administration.
Dykhouse will continue to oversee all legal operations for the company. He joined Charter in 2006, serving as vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary, and became corporate secretary in 2009.
"These appointments reflect a commitment to our customers, shareholders and employees to support and sustain the positive changes taking place at Charter," Charter president and CEO Tom Rutledge said in a statement.
Rutledge called Dudley "a proven leader who brings with him a wealth of expertise in developing and managing compelling messaging and executing high-impact, strategic communications. He will be a valuable contributor to our organization."
Regarding Dykhouse’s promotion, Rutledge said, "I am pleased to have Rick on our leadership team in this critical role. His knowledge, experience and thought leadership are important to Charter's success."
