Cox Business Hires Rowley To Head Field Operations In West

Cox Business has appointed Steve Rowley, previously in charge of indirect sales at Sprint Nextel, as vice president of field operations for the company's Western division.

In his role at Cox, Rowley will oversee all sales processes and operations related to Cox's commercial services in Arizona, California, Louisiana and Nevada, and will assist local Cox Business teams to develop and implement sales and operational strategies. He also will serve as the primary point of integration between field and corporate staff for finance, product and sales support planning.

At Sprint, Rowley managed relationships with more than 500 partners, a business that generated $250 million in annual revenue. He had helped lead the 4G business unit, in conjunction with Clearwire. Prior to Sprint, Rowley worked in various positions for wireless startups and cable companies, including as senior vice president of development for People's Choice TV (prior to Sprint's acquisition of the company in 1999).

"Steve has a strong background in managing large technology sales organizations and is a great addition to Cox Business as we continue to aggressively expand," Cox Business senior vice president Phil Meeks said in a statement. "Sales execution and operational consistency are critical as we meet the advanced communications requirements of businesses."

Cox Business provides voice, data and video services for almost 250,000 small and regional businesses and supports more than 730,000 business phone lines.
