ESPN PPV Launches Consumer Web Site

7/19/2004 6:48 AM Eastern

ESPN Pay-Per-View launched a consumer sports PPV Web site (espnppv.com or espnpayperview.com) Monday to provide fans with information about its programming.

The site will provide consumers who subscribe to or are interested in subscribing to ESPN PPV a chance to educate themselves about the service. It will include details on subscription packages and pricing, blackout information and schedules.

Cable and satellite distributors that carry ESPN PPV can be linked to the new site so that consumers can sign up for the service online.

ESPN PPV’s next event is the network’s first fantasy-league special, ESPN Fantasy Football Forecast. It will provide a behind-the-scenes look into fantasy-league play and will premiere two weeks prior to the National Football League season in August. Ron Jaworski will host the program, joined by ESPN football analysts Trey Wingo and Sean Salisbury.

ESPN PPV includes “ESPN GamePlan,” a college-football season package; “ESPN Full Court,” a college-basketball season package; and PPV events such as ESPN College Grand Slam, K-1 martial-arts programs and boxing and movies produced by ESPN Original Entertainment.

ESPN PPV also includes other sports events and subscription packages, as well as programming from ESPN’s vast library of content.
