HBO’s “TV
Everywhere”
apps for Apple
and Google
Android devices have
been downloaded
more
than 1 million
times since
their April 29
release, according
to
network copresident
Eric
Kessler.

HBO Go
offers access
to more than
1,400 movies
and TV-show episodes — including every episode
of every season of the network’s original series —
to subscribers of participating affiliates, online at
HBO.com and through the mobile apps.

So far, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision Systems are
the only major pay TV providers that do not have agreements
to offer HBO Go; TWC has said it is in “active discussions”
with its erstwhile corporate cousin on the service.

“It is a great milestone to hit so quickly, but what is
even more exciting is that we are seeing continued enthusiasm
and activity each day,” Kessler said last week,
speaking at the Streaming Media East 2011 conference.

Providers that offer HBO Go, available over any broadband
connection in the U.S., include Comcast, Direc-
TV, Dish Network, Cox Communications, AT&T U-verse
TV, Verizon FiOS TV, Suddenlink Communications and
Charter Communications (in a beta rollout).

The free HBO Go apps are available from Apple’s iTunes
App Store and via Google’s Android Marketplace.
