Local Students Complete Mediacom Internship Program

About 14 students in the Orange County, New York area recently completed Mediacom Communications’ 2013 summer internship program.

Established in 2003, the program provides college and graduate level students with practical experience in a professional environment. Since its inception, more than 85 interns have participated in the program and 10 have gone on to work in full-time positions at Mediacom.

One such alumni – Eric Schoenfeldt – began as a summer intern at the cable company in 2010 and joined the company permanently in 2011 after  receiving his MBA from SUNY New Paltz that year. Initially, Schoenfeldt worked in an administrator position within the group responsible for overseeing Mediacom’s retail phone service, but he quickly moved into to a supervisory role.  Recently, he was promoted to Manager of Financial Operations. In his new position, Eric is undertaking a critical and active role in identifying operational improvements and cost reduction solutions.

“The knowledge I gained while participating in the Mediacom internship program really helped me transition from life as a student to a career in the business world,” said Schoenfeldt in a statement.  “It was a tremendous experience, and it truly helped provide a foundation for my professional growth and success here at Mediacom.”
