Mediacom Taps Concurrent To Aggregate Viewing Metrics

Mediacom Communications signed a multiyear contract with video-on-demand vendor Concurrent, which will provide a turnkey system for collecting viewership data across VOD, linear and interactive TV.

Under the agreement, Concurrent will provide Mediacom a hosted media-data service based on the vendor's latest VOD Operational Reporting Solutions to support the MSO's marketing, advertising sales, engineering and operations strategies. With the system, Mediacom will be able to aggregate VOD, linear and interactivity data from its 1.3 million subscribers.

Concurrent's Media Data and Advertising Solutions system will provide data collection, validation, warehousing and distribution to Mediacom's various data stakeholders.

"Concurrent has played a valuable role in our success during the past six years," John Woods, Mediacom's vice president of advanced consumer services, said in a statement. "Through their media data collection and management tools, we've been able to deliver a high-quality experience to our customers and provide significant value to our content providers."

Mediacom, the seventh-largest cable company in the U.S., serves more than 1,400 communities nationwide.
