Myrio Adds Customer, Partner11/16/2004 2:33 AM Eastern
Myrio Corp. announced a deployment and a new technology partner Tuesday.
Consolidated Communications will deploy the “Myrio IP Video Platform,” which will allow the company to offer a triple-play bundle with advanced digital-video services such as video-on-demand, pay-per-view and digital television to more than 50,000 local-service subscribers in central Illinois.
“Consolidated Communications is Myrio’s largest IP-video [Internet protocol] deployment to date in the United States [interexchange carrier] market,” Myrio CEO Chris Coles said in a prepared statement.
“Large IOCs like Consolidated continue to validate the technical and commercial viability of IP video to the telecommunications industry at large,” Coles added.
The provider of IP-video software and services also announced that ICTV Inc. has become a member of its “Myrio Video Partner” program.
The interactive-TV-software vendor has integrated its “HeadendWare” application platform with the Myrio IP Video Platform for the delivery of centralized, next-generation, interactive services including branded games, children’s programming, local news and transactional opportunities, Myrio said.
“Myrio has established a leadership position in broadband video because of its ability to simply and cost-effectively offer the broadest range of solutions for network operators,” ICTV vice president of marketing and business development Jonathan Symonds said in a prepared statement.
“Working with them to deliver a new generation of interactive services will enable us to accelerate our own entry into the IPTV sector and to speed the revenue-generating capacity of the category as a whole,” he added.
