Pioneer, ICTV Pass Moto Certification

Pioneer Digital Technologies Inc. and ICTV Inc. said the two companies have completed testing of ICTV's "HeadendWare" application with Pioneer’s "Passport DCT 2.0" at Motorola Inc.'s Acadia Application Integration Center.

The companies said the two applications will work on Motorola Broadband Communications Sector "DCT-1000," "1200" and "2000" set-tops.

Pioneer said it is working with ICTV in field trials in North America testing a number of interactive applications, including games, local news, sports, weather, entertainment and customer care.

In other technology news, N2 Broadband Inc. said World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. is using its "Xport" system to streamline and standardize content production for its subscription-video-on-demand service.

WWE's new SVOD service will draw on the 75,000 hours of content from its library. The SVOD service will carry 20 hours per month, with four to five hours refreshed each week.

And Microtune Inc. announced its "MT2060" silicon tuner for voice-over-Internet-protocol cable modems.

Microtune said the single-chip tuner cuts space and RF costs by 25% and power by 40%. The tuner can be integrated into PacketCable embedded multimedia-terminal adapters and set-tops, the vendor added.
