ShortsHD Gains Berth On Dish Network

ShortsHD has launched on Dish Network.
The movie shorts service is now available on Dish Platinum HD package on channel 375. Deal terms between parent Shorts International and the No. 2 DBS provider were not disclosed.
ShortsHD, which derived revenue from both license fees and advertising, also has carriage on AT&T U-verse and is now available to some 16 million U.S. subscribers.
The network, whose schedule comprises short films categorized into 30 and 60 minute thematic "zones" covering a variety of genres, such as comedies, musicals, documentaries, thrillers, dramas and animation.
Shorts International also recently partnered with Movies OnDemand to bring the feature presentations of the "Oscar-Nominated Shorts 2010" to major operators' on-demand platform last month and is available on iTunes.
Outside the U.S., Shorts International operates ad-supported TV networks in the U.K, France, Belgium, Turkey and Luxembourg.
