Time Warner Cable Opens $33 Million Office Building In N.C.

Time Warner Cable held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday for a $33 million, 160,000-square-foot operations center in Morrisville, N.C.

The MSO said hundreds of employees have moved from Raleigh to the new office in the last few weeks, consolidating operations for the area into one facility. Time Warner Cable in May opened a $29 million building in Charlotte, N.C.

"Constructing two state-of-the-art facilities for our employees further solidifies Time Warner Cable's commitment to North Carolina," president of network operations Mike Munley said in a statement. "As the communities in which we live and work continue to grow, these campuses provide us with the opportunity to expand our operations in the coming years."

TWC's four-story Morrisville building is located at 4200 Paramount Parkway. The 103,000-square-foot Charlotte building is in the Charlotte Corporate Campus at 7820 Crescent Executive Drive.

Time Warner Cable's Carolina division has more than 2 million customers in more than 400 cities and towns across North and South Carolina.

According to the operator the expansion in Charlotte was made possible in part by a Job Development Investment Grant from the state of North Carolina. The performance-based grant was awarded in 2008 to support the company's commitment to add 200 jobs paying an average salary of $70,375, significantly higher than the Mecklenburg County average, the company said.
