With recent additions from Comcast Corp. and Adelphia Communications Corp. totaling some 400,000 homes, Turner South has pushed past the 7 million-subscriber mark.
The Southeastern entertainment network now counts some 7.2 million subscribers, according to network officials.
Recent launches in Knoxville, Tenn.; Charleston and Hilton Head, S.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; Brunswick, Ga.; and Mooresville, N.C., plus other markets, pushed the service to new distribution heights.
“As the network approaches its fifth anniversary, Turner South has almost reached full distribution as a result of the high-quality, Southern-flavored programming that has created a strong demand for the network among potential subscribers and increased popularity among current viewers,” Turner Broadcasting System Inc. president of domestic distribution Andrew T. Heller said in a prepared statement.
