In Action: Top Athletes Shoot First Major Fox Sports 1 Promo

Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne participated in the first segment of a major commercial shoot for FOX Sports 1, the new News Corp.-owned national sports network, coming Aug. 17 and supplanting the existing motor-sports network, Speed. (Read more about the rollout in this interview with Fox Sports leaders from a recent Multichannel News.)

Filmed at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the NASCAR segment will be combined with pieces from multiple locations, using more than a dozen major athletes/coaches from each of the major sports that will call FOX Sports 1 home beginning in just a few months.

The finished brand spot will premiere during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 16 on Fox.

Other star athletes to be featured include Detroit Tigers baseball star Miguel Cabrera and U.S. Olympics soccer hero Alex Morgan (in story heading), filmed at Foxboro, Mass., this past week.
