Bravo Eyes Manhattan’s Upper Crust9/20/2007 9:10 AM Eastern
Already providing a glimpse about how some of the upper class lives on the west coast with Real Housewives of Orange County, Bravo’s now looking to do something similar in the Big Apple with Manhattan Moms.
The NBC Universal service said that production has begun on its new docu-drama Manhattan Moms (working title). The show follows an eclectic group of Gotham socialites and their families, tracking the tough sledding that is their over-scheduled lives of private schools, charity events, running businesses and summering in the Hamptons.
Ricochet Television Inc. (Super Nanny) is producing the series, with Lenid Rolov serving as executive producer.
A network spokeswoman said episode-order and air-date decisions for the show have not yet been made.
“Manhattan Moms is a fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the privileged lives of New York's wealthy socialites,” said Frances Berwick, executive vice president, programming and production at Bravo, in a statement. “We'll watch as they juggle calendars packed with charity fund-raising galas and the social whirl of the Hamptons, with interviews for elite private schools and high-powered careers.”
