Turner South Extends Promo

Atlanta —Turner Network Sales said that it will extend its “Turner South Tips” affiliates sales initiative through the third quarter.

TNS has been supplying cable affiliates with a series of three, 30-second spots that contain a 10-second tag that the affiliates can sell to local advertisers.

The spots, proffering tips geared toward Southern design, travel and deals, feature Erin Haney, host of 3 Day Weekend; Val Myers and Dave Bird, the hosts of Junkin'; and the hosts of Home Makers.

Turner South said it will also supply affiliates with gifts that can be used for local consumer sweepstakes. Operators that choose the 3 Day Weekend spots will get a Garmin GPS unit; affiliates that choose the Junkin' promos will receive a Nikon 7900 camera; and affiliates that pick the Home Makers spots will get a Bose Wave radio.

A&E's Febrizio Upped to Senior VP

New YorkA&E Television Networks has promoted Nick Febrizio to senior vice president of research and strategy.

In his new position, Febrizio will meld his research roots with his experience in advertising sales, distribution and customer management to address an array of AETN programming, sales and marketing initiatives.

Prior to his promotion, Febrizio was vice president, responsible for the Northeast region's affiliate sales group.

Febrizio originally joined AETN to oversee the affiliate sales department's research, where he created sales and marketing tools to grow A&E Network's distribution, increase local ad sales and develop targeted marketing partnerships with affiliates. Febrizio was also the driving force in creating strategic research presentations which were used in the pre-launch and launch phase of The History Channel.
