Cable Networks will pay homage to Black History Month with a lineup of original series, specials and movies that celebrate the contributions of African-Americans. The chart below is a partial list of the original shows premiering on nearly a dozen networks during February.

“We Are Doc McStuffins” (Disney Junior)

Disney Junior will air several interstitials featuring the lead character from its animated series Doc McStuffins, a young African-American girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mom, alongside three real life female African-American physicians sharing what their jobs entail, and saluting their heroes. 

“This Is Me” (Disney Channel)

Disney Channel will air several interstitials featuring tweens and young adults discussing their favorite heroes, sources of inspiration and dreams for the future in recognition of Black History Month

Black History Month Vignettes (Aspire)

Aspire will air Black History month shorts throughout the month featuring network talent talking about who in history they would have liked to have talked to or marched with.
