Cartoon Ready to Get Re-Animated

Cartoon Network completed principal photography on its first-ever original live-action TV movie, Re-Animated.

The film -- which will combine elements of live action and animation -- tells the story of a 12-year-old boy whose life is turned upside down after an accident at an amusement park.

Re-Animated -- originally announced in March at Cartoon’s upfront presentation -- is currently in postproduction with a premiere date yet to be determined.

“When we decided to venture into the territory of live action, we knew it was going to have to be an event like nothing we’ve ever done before,” Cartoon senior vice president of programming and development Michael Ouweleen said in a prepared statement. “And even though we are featuring live-action characters, it still had to be done the Cartoon Network way. Re-Animated has proven to be that kind of project.”
