CNN Signs Jay Carney

CNN has hired Jay Carney, former press secretary to President Barack Obama, as a political commentator for the 24-hour news network, CNN said Wednesday.

Carney will appear on the network tonight as a contributor to CNN’s coverage of President Obama’s speech regarding ISIS, and will contribute to programs across the network including special political programming.

“Jay’s unique experience as both a journalist and a White House press secretary make him an invaluable voice for the network as we cove the final two years of the Obama Adiminstation and look ahead to the coming campaigns,” said Sam Feist, senior vice president and Washington bureau chief in a statement. “We are fortunate to have Jay on our air tonight to provide analysis and insight surrounding the President’s address to the nation.”
