Comcast Launches Sportsman HD in Twin Cities

Comcast Cable has launched the high-definition version of Sportsman Channel in the Twin Cities.

Sportsman HD is now available on channel 914 on Comcast systems serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. The network said its outdoor fare, encompassing hunting, shooting, fishing, travel, adventure and survival, should have appeal in the DMA, where one in three residents are active sportsmen and women. Programs include Meet the McMillans and Gun It with Benny Spies, as well as NRANews Cam & Co., the category’s first news-talk show.

“At Comcast Cable, we are focused on providing value to our customers through high quality video content that appeals to a wide range of viewer interests,” said Mary Beth Schubert, vice president, corporate affairs for Comcast, in a statement. “The addition of Sportsman HD allows us to expand our high-definition offerings and deliver ‘outdoor TV’ in a more robust and vivid digital format.”

Noted Sportsman Channel CEO Gavin Harvey:“Comcast Cable is a valued partner and we are pleased to continue the ongoing expansion of Sportsman HD. There is no better way to experience the great outdoors and the sportsman lifestyle than in stunning HD, and we look forward to delivering the most entertaining and informative HD programming to Twin Cities customers and expanding to reach even more of today’s 80 million American sportsmen and women nationwide.”
