Comcast Revamps X1’s ‘Politics Central’ for Inauguration Week

Comcast said it’s making some tweaks and changes to the “Politics Central” area for its X1 platform ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Friday (Jan. 20).

Ahead of the speech, the revamped Politics Central element of X1 News (which can also be accessed by saying “Politics Central” using the X1 voice remote), will provide on-demand access to every U.S. inaugural address dating back to President Eisenhower in 1953, as well as on-demand content that includes Trump’s speech from the 2016 Republican National Convention,  and his first presidential debate.

On inauguration day, Politics Central will feature live tune-in tiles for Trump’s speech, and the rest of the day’s events, via the viewer’s preferred network. Politics Central will also include “quick and real-time access to highlights from events and both web-based and on demand news, interviews and analysis,” Comcast added.

Comcast will also provide live streams of the inauguration from BBC World News, CNBC, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News and MSNBC via the authenticated Xfinity TV app.
