Court TV Goes to the Movies7/14/2006 8:07 AM Eastern
Pasadena, Calif. -- As expected, Court TV -- which was fully acquired by Time Warner Inc. in May -- will begin using the resources of its new corporate parent, Turner Broadcasting System, by tapping into its vast library of theatricals.
Beginning Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST), Court TV’s marquee will feature Most Wanted Movies, a lineup encompassing action, dramatic and comedic titles set in the crime and investigation genres. Films running longer than two hours will begin at 7 p.m.
Network officials, speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour here Friday, said the first Most Wanted Movies title is Bad Boys, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, followed by Seven and In the Line of Fire. Other films scheduled to air under that banner include A Few Good Men, The Client, Runaway Jury, Pelican Brief, Analyze That and Donnie Brasco.
Court TV also announced that it would premiere the critically acclaimed On Native Soil: The Documentary of the 9/11 Commission Report Aug. 21. The film features never-before-seen interviews from victims' family members as it focuses on the actual events of that day.
