Discovery, TLC Gather News Emmy Noms

Discovery Networks U.S. took home a News and Documentary Emmy Award nomination six-pack, the programmer said Thursday.

Flagship Discovery Channel received four nominations, while two went to The Learning Channel.

The 25th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented Monday, Sept. 13, and the ceremony will air on Discovery Times Channel Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST).

Discovery Channel received three nominations in the category of “Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Graphic and Artistic Design” for Nefertiti Resurrected, Extreme Engineering: Tokyo’s Sky City and an episode of Unsolved History entitled “JFK: Death in Dealey Plaza.”

Special Coming Home from Space: The Challenge of Re-Entry was nominated for “Outstanding Science, Technology and Nature Programming.”

And TLC special Living with Bugs: Close Encounters garnered two nominations: “Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Lighting Direction and Scenic Design” and “Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Cinematography.”
