'Duck Dynasty' to End Run on A&E

Series to conclude its final season in April 11/16/2016 9:54 PM Eastern

Duck Dynasty’s current season will be its last as A&E Wednesday announced the end of one of its most successful series.

The series, which debuted its new season tonight (Nov. 16) will run through Jan. 18, take a short hiatus, and then return with its final seven episodes beginning March 1 and ending April 12, said A&E.

Over its five year run, Duck Dynasty, which followed the exploits of the unconventional Robertson family and their successful duck hunting business, was one of the most-watched nonfiction series in cable history and still remains the most watched series on A&E among total viewers. Duck Dynasty ran into some controversy in 2013 when A&E suspended series star  Phil Robertson over controversial remarks about gays made in a GQ article.

The announcement was made by the Robertson family after the premiere episode of the show's new season (see video below).
