Element Electronics Unveils Roku TV With 4K and HDR

Element Electronics will start selling a Roku-powered TV with 4K and High Dynamic Range capabilities on November 27 at Walmart stores.

That model, which sports a 50-inch screen and supports HDR10, will integrate the Roku OS and interface, providing access to more than 5,000 apps/channels. The new Element Electronics model will get an update later this year for Roku OS 8, an updated operating system that features a “Smart Guide” component that blends OTT content and over-the-air TV.

Pricing on the new model was not announced. Element and Roku announced their partnership in January 2017.

Among other specs, the new Element TV has a refresh rate of 60Hz, up to 60 fps, built-in WiFi, three HDMI ports, plus composite and Ethernet ports, and two USB ports.

Element Electronics also makes TVs powered by Amazon’s Fire TV platform.
