Epix App Now Available on Windows 8.1 Platform

Subscribers to Epix can now engage in some Windows shopping.

Epix today launched its app on Microsoft's Windows 8.1 platform, making it the first premium TV service available as an authenticated app in the Windows Store.

The rollout expands Epix's accessibility beyond set-top boxes, game consoles, iOS and Android tablets and phones to the rest of the device universe, including PCs and tablets from HP, Dell, Sony and Lenovo.

Epix affords its authenticated subscribers with access to more than 3,000 titles on-demand, including top theatricals like The Hunger Games, Skyfall, World War Z and Star Trek: Into Darkness, plus concerts featuring Madonna and Pink, comedy specials with Jenny McCarthy and Patton Oswalt, and documentaries such as TWA Flight 800 and Schooled: The Price of College Sports.

“Launching the Epix app on Windows 8.1 expands our collaboration with Microsoft to offer subscribers unparalleled content and experience from any device at any time,” said Mark Greenberg, president and CEO of Epix, in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring our premium content to a top technology company such as Microsoft which marks the evolution and growth of the Epix footprint across new platforms and devices.”
