Epix Launches on Hawaiian Telcom TV

Hawaiian Telcom TV has launched premium entertainment network Epix.

The provider is making Epix, which presents over 3,000 theatricals, live concerts, comedy specials and sporting events, available to the customers on the island of Oahu via its Movie Variety Pack. Terms of the deal, which positions Epix on channel 381 and in high-definition format on channel 1381, were not disclosed.

A joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. and Lionsgate, Epix is available to over 30 million homes nationwide through affiliate pacts with such distributors as Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Dish Network, Mediacom Communications, the National Cable Television Cooperative, Suddenlink Communications and Verizon FiOS.

Hawaiian Telcom TV MVP customers can also access Epix content both inside and away from home through EpixHD.com and the service’s apps, which are available on myriad devices, including popular smartphones, game consoles, and streaming media players.

“Our customers continue to ask for a wider selection of great movies than what’s typically been available in Hawaii, and we’re excited that our partnership with Epix substantially enhances Hawaiian Telcom TV’s Movie Variety Pack to meet that need,” said Brad Fisher, Hawaiian Telcom’s senior vice president of strategy and marketing, in announcing the deal. “Along with exclusive studio films and original specials, Epix HD and all its platforms including EpixHD.com and Epix apps deliver tremendous value and a unique customer experience whether you are watching at home or on-the-go.”
