Epix Taps Ben Tappan as VP, Scripted Programming

Premium movie network Epix has tapped Ben Tappan to the post of vice president for scripted programming.

Tappan, formerly SVP of television at Landscape Entertainment, reports to Jocelyn Diaz, Epix's EVP of original programming, and is based in Los Angeles.

Epix said he will be working on the development of Epix’s current and upcoming slate of scripted content, including EPIX’s first two original series – Graves and Berlin Station – which will head into production this fall.  Tappan will also pursue new projects for development.

At Landscape, Tappan oversaw day-to-day operations of the company’s TV department and its first look series deal with eOne television and Limited Series deal with Fox for projects including Diamond in the Sky, Raven  Rock, No Ordinary  Time and Life in Shadows.

Epix, which recently announced plans for a download option and is offered in more than 50 million homes, is a joint venture of Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Lionsgate and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc
