ESPN to Post Another Dream Job4/19/2004 9:28 AM Eastern
ESPN said Monday that the second installment of Dream Job will begin airing in January.
College senior Mike Hall won a one-year SportsCenter contract in the recently concluded first run of the reality series.
ESPN anchor Stuart Scott will return as host. Dream Job earned a 1.2 overall Nielsen Media Research rating and more than 1 million viewers each week, ESPN said.
The second season will have a similar format, with contestants selected from a nationwide search competing to become the next SportsCenter anchor, the network added.
“Dream Job’s success showed us that our viewers are receptive to the reality-show genre when it’s done the right way,” ESPN executive vice president of programming and production Mark Shapiro said in a prepared statement.
“The overwhelming consensus is that viewers want the chance to decide who we put on our air, and we enjoy giving it to them,” he added.
