ESPNU VP Rosalyn Durant Adds ESPNHS Oversight

Rosalyn Durant is adding high-school sports to her ESPNU portfolio.

ESPN said Durant becomes vice president, ESPNU and ESPNHS, in a move to "integrat[e] the natural synergy between high school and college sports."

ESPNHS had been overseen by ESPNHS VP Glenn Rosenbloom who will now report in to Durant, the programmer said.

ESPN said Durant has been responsible for the rapid growth of the college sports network through her close collaboration across multiple business units within the company. ESPNU is now seen in approximately 73 million homes compared to 25 million in April 2008 when she assumed her role.

ESPN in some cases has arranged for college-focused ESPNU to take over carriage slots that had belonged to ESPN Classic.

Durant will report to John Wildhack, executive vice president, programming and acquisitions and, for ESPNHS business matters, to John Kosner, senior vice president, digital and print media.

Prior to her position with ESPNU, Durant served as vice president, programming & acquisitions, managing ESPN's relationships with the NBA, FIFA, UEFA, US Soccer, Major League Soccer and other rights holders. She played a significant role in the eight-year contract extension with the NBA announced in June 2007. Durant began at ESPN as an intern in affiliate sales and marketing in the summer of 1998.
