BAMTech didn’t expand on the details of Swint’s new role, but Variety, which first reported the hire, said Swint’s duties will include running a new OTT-delivered subscription service that will compete with Netflix.

The hiring comes as The Walt Disney Company acquires a majority stake in BAMTech, and moves ahead on a plan to launch Disney- and ESPN-branded direct to consumer products.
