Fox College Sports Names New Dean8/22/2005 8:03 AM Eastern
FSN Monday announced that group executive David Rone will take over the reins of Fox College Sports, succeeding David Nathanson.
Rone will add the network’s general manager title to his current position as FSN executive vice president of network development and rights acquisitions, group executives said.
Nathanson -- who has led the three-network national college-sports service since its launch last September -- will devote more time to the recently launched Fox Reality Channel.
FCS is currently in more than 3 million homes.
“David Nathanson did a great job managing the multiplex from inception and making the transition of Fox Sports Digital Nets to Fox College Sports a reality last year, and he did so several months ahead of schedule,” FSN president Bob Thompson said in a prepared statement.
“FCS is fortunate to have [Rone] step into this role, and I have every confidence that his keen business acumen will guide FCS as we look to exploit current rights, acquire exclusive programming and find ways to grow this emerging asset,” he added.
